The water bottle is a loot item found in Stranded Deep.

When starting a new game, the player will spawn with a number of selected necessities, including a single water bottle. The water bottle is a vitally important starter item that is used to hold water. The bottle can be used three times before it runs out of water. Each sip of water will increase the player's thirst meter by two units.

If the player loses their first water bottle, additional water bottles can be found inside cabinets and lockers contained within Shipwrecks.

RefillingEdit

In order to refill a water bottle, the player must first acquire a bucket. The player should then distill the sea water by using either a campfire, a fire pit or a fire spit. After distilling the water, the bucket should be set upright on the ground with care (this can be done by looking at the horizon and dropping the bucket (default 'Q')). The player will then be able to refill the bottle using the bucket by clicking the 'use' button (default 'LMB').

Bugs Edit

  • When leaving the bottle empty or half full on the ground before venturing to a different island and returning, it will be full again. This has been fixed as of the v0.04.E2 experimental build.

Trivia Edit

  • Like other loot items, despite spending a considerable amount of time inside underwater shipwrecks, water bottles (excluding the player's first bottle) manage to remain almost completely well-preserved, to the point where no visible damage to the bottles themselves or their labels are visible, nor is the water tainted in any way.
