The diver's slate is an Easter egg found in Stranded Deep.
Description
It is a writing pad that had been dropped by another survivor some time prior to the events of the game. The pad comes with a pencil attached to the clip (peculiarly, the pencil appears to have been put in recently), and shows signs of damage from spending an unknown amount of time at sea. The diver's slate spawns randomly on islands, and can be found lying on the beach.
The slate's text reads:

To anyone who can help us: We have been abandoned on Agin court reef Reef 25 Jan 1998 03pm. Please help us come to rescue us before we die. Help!!! |

Bugs
- There was a graphical glitch where the slate was not properly held in the hand model. This was fixed in the v0.02 update.
Trivia
- Like other Easter eggs such as the DeadEx box, the Land Shark Sign and Wollie, when the cursor is hovered over the diver's slate in the player's Backpack, it reads "Awesome" in purple text with a star next to it.
- The inscribed text is a clear reference to Tom and Eileen Lonergan, two divers that were mistakenly abandoned in the Coral Sea after a diving trip.
- It is one of the pre-alpha items in the game, meaning it is now removed.
